International Food Blogger Conference…Here I Come!

Lucky, lucky me: I’m off to the International Food Blogger Conference 2012 in Portland, Oregon, in a matter of hours! Presented by Foodista and Zephyr Adventures, it promises to be a great opportunity to learn about the finer points of food blogging. There’ll be lectures on digital food photography, creating engaging content and search engine optimization (O.K., I’ll be sure to have my cappuccino shooter before that one!) given by leaders in the biz. I’m especially excited to meet, greet and dine with other bloggers, writers, editors, chefs, food product manufacturers, and others passionate about good food.
Speaking of dining, it sounds like I will be exceptionally well fed while I’m there. All meals are included, and I’m salivating at the thought of Saturday night’s farm-to-table dinner hosted by Wildwood Restaurant and Nutiva’s organic vegan breakfast the following morning.
In case you’re wondering, I’ll be staying at the DoubleTree in downtown Portland, where the conference is being held. It happens to be Oregon’s first Green Seal Certified hotel. To receive the certification, the hotel had to meet certain standards in regards to minimizing waste, conserving energy, preventing pollution and more. If that knowledge doesn’t allow me to sleep like a baby, then getting a few nights off from the middle-of-the-night roamings of my 4-year-old twins certainly will.
I’ll think of you while I’m sampling Oregon’s Washington County wines at the Food and Wine Reception tomorrow night!
